Soccer players who produce big numbers are rare, but when they show up they can make a huge difference.
Take Sprague senior Sarah Teubner. The midfielder scored nine goals and had 11 assists as the Olympians went 9-4-2 and made it back to the 6A state playoffs.
Or Blanchet junior Emily Collier. Also a midfielder, she scored 14 goals and had 18 assists as the Cavaliers went 14-3 and reached the 3A/2A/1A state quarterfinals.
And then there’s Cascade junior Emma Woods. The midfielder scored eight goals and had three assists in helping the Cougars to an 11-1-3 record and the 4A state quarterfinals.
But Silverton freshman Paige Alexander had a huge impact. The forward made a huge impact with 33 goals and 10 assists in leading the Foxes to the 5A state championship game for the first time in the program’s history.

Accomplishments: Cameron coached the Foxes to a 14-4-1 record, a third place finish in the Mid-Willamette Conference with a 5-1-1 record, the program’s first state playoff win (a 1-0 win against Marist in the first round) and to the Class 5A state championship game where the team placed second.
All-Mid-Valley
The Statesman Journal’s All-Mid-Valley teams, which are made up of athletes from the 36 schools in the Statesman Journal’s coverage area, are selected by the staff based on statistics, all-league teams, conversations with coaches and observations. The teams for cross country, soccer, volleyball and football run through Monday.
