Kyle Haslebacher had the biggest game of his life in the biggest game of the season.
The 5-foot-10, 170 pound senior linebacker was the defensive star for Salem Academy’s football team as they defeated Blanchet 33-26 in the OSAA Class 3A state semifinals.

An honorable mention all-PacWest Conference selection this season, he recorded 15 tackles against Blanchet with 2.5 for loss, including one sack.

Peter Mason, Central football: The senior receiver caught six passes for 138 yards and two touchdowns, made six tackles and intercepted a pass in Saturday’s 56-34 loss to Wilsonville in the 5A semifinals.
Bryce Piete, Regis football: The senior quarterback was 13 of 19 passing for 138 yards in Saturday’s 27-6 win against Heppner in the 2A state semifinals.
Tanner Earhart, Dallas football: The senior running back rushed for 108 yards and a touchdown on 26 carries in Saturday’s 10-7 loss to Lebanon in the 5A state semifinals.
Jesse Cable, Central football: The sophomore safety recorded 17 tackles in Saturday’s 56-35 loss to Wilsonville in the 5A state semifinals.
Cota Wakem, Cascade football: The senior linebacker had seven tackles, including one for loss in Saturday’s 48-20 loss to Cottage Grove in the 4A state semifinals.
