West Salem senior Paige Whipple

West Salem senior Paige Whipple was named to the first-team Class 6A all-state volleyball team.

It was the second year in a row the 6-foot-2 outside hitter, who has signed to play at Arizona, was first-team all-state.

West Salem senior outside hitter Kasey Campbell and McNary senior outside hitter Sydney Hunter were named honorable mention all-state.

Cascade junior Tori Lewis was named first-team Class 4A all-state.

Honors

Jared Oliver, Kolby Barker and Paige Whipple were honored as Fall Senior Athletes of the Year by the Salem Sports & Breakfast Club at its Dec. 2 meeting.

Oliver, a senior quarterback for West Salem’s football team, was the Greater Valley Conference offensive player of the year.

McNary senior Kolby Barker

Barker, a senior lineman for McNary’s football team, was a first-team all-Greater Valley Conference selection on the defensive line for the second year in a row.

Whipple, a senior outside hitter for West Salem’s volleyball team, was the Greater Valley Conference player of the year for the second year in a row.
