Dane McKinney's emergence in backfield key for Sprague

Dane McKinney doesn’t proclaim himself to be the star running back for Sprague High School’s football team, but he’s playing like one.

The senior running back rushed for 199 yards and two touchdowns in Friday’s 50-21 win against McNary.

McKinney, also a standout in wrestling and track and field, has rushed for over 100 yards each game this fall and has 483 yards and seven touchdowns in three games this fall for Sprague (2-1 Greater Valley Conference).

Hunter Sullivan, North Salem football: The senior quarterback rushed for two touchdowns in Friday’s 35-16 win against McMinnville.

Jared Oliver, West Salem football: The senior quarterback was 15 of 28 passing for 199 yards and threw a 44-yard touchdown pass to Keonte McMurrin in Friday’s 38-8 loss to Sheldon.

Tanner Earhart, Dallas football: The senior running back rushed for 155 yards and two touchdowns in Friday’s 20-13 win against Silverton.

Bishop Mitchell, Kennedy football: The senior running back ran for 277 yards and three touchdowns on 21 carries and returned an interception 83 yards for a touchdown in Friday’s 32-28 win against Harrisburg.

Noah Sickles, Falls City football: The junior running back rushed for 99 yards and three touchdowns on 16 carries in Friday’s 58-14 win against Mapleton.

Peter Mason, Central football: The senior receiver caught seven passes for 151 yards and two touchdowns in Friday’s 50-26 win against Glencoe.

Harrison Broadus, South Salem football: The senior quarterback was rushed for 135 yards and two touchdowns on 22 carries and was 9 for 17 passing for 149 yards and two touchdowns in Friday’s 27-14 win against West Albany.

Skyler Williams, Salem Academy football: The senior receiver caught four passes for 110 yards and a touchdown and rushed for 17 yards on two carries in Friday’s 14-10 win against Blanchet.

Peter Mendazona, Central football: The junior quarterback was 19 for 27 passing for 327 yards and three touchdowns in Friday’s 50-26 win against Glencoe.

West Streeter, Amity football: The running back rushed for 59 yards and two touchdowns on seven carries in Friday’s 28-0 win against Willamina.
