Lane Stigall not only added to his legend, but he added to the legend of the Stigall family.
The North Marion High Schoool junior won the OSAA Class 4A state championship at 152 pounds last weekend, his second state title.
Stigall’s father, Ford, and brothers Tyler and Jacob were all state champion wrestlers for North Marion.
He was chosen as the athlete of the week by readers of the Statesman Journal through online vote on the Statesman Journal’s Facebook page.
Stigall, and the rest of the athletes of the week, will be honored during the first Mid-Valley Sports Awards show on June 7 at the Salem Convention Center. NFL Hall of Famer Jerry Rice will be the keynote speaker.
